These city plow guys do this constantly in this city, most probably SHOULDN'T be plow operators, they have no regard for elderly or disabled people that may need emergency vehicles to access their driveway. For the taxes we pay as homeowners here with mostly nothing returned, at least the city could do a decent job in the winter regarding street and sidewalk plowing.
I said it before, I'll say it again, whoever is in charge with supervision of the plowing and maintenance of this city's streets, should be fired! Terrible terrible plowing and sidewalk maintenance in Orillia, obviously there is inadequate supervision, all you need to do is drive around and see messy sidewalks, lanes taken up with snowbanks and sloppy roads with buildups of slush.
The budget DOESN'T determine the supervision or proper management and actually determining where when and how to properly proceed with the cleaning of what roads from worst to best in this city....I'm still saying badly managed sectors of this cities departments are what's to blame, and our road management shows very weak supervision.
The people hired in these licencing centers are allowing way way to many terrible uneducated drivers to get their drivers license, both trucks and cars, some don't know our road rules, or the true laws regarding the signage or even what to do regarding emergency vehicles, school buses ect ect....as far as the big rigs....to be laxed in this department is very dangerous as we've seen in past accidents by bad truck drivers skirting the rules and regulations for safety and mechanical fitness of the trucks on our roads. They need to get better instructors who make sure those given drivers licenses are educated and skilled.
Good, the ministry of transportation also needs to check themselves as well, apparently it's not truly checking itself before handing out licenses also. Numerous times I've noticed many many drivers who don't seem to know the rules needed to be given this right. Passing school busses illegally, not pulling to the side for emergency vehicles, following far too close...ect ectIt's mostly common sense which people seem to lack far to much nowadays
It's only January 2nd....and I'm totally sick of winter already, I'm so glad I bought a brand new snowblower end of last year, it's been put through it's paces already...and still most the winters ahead of us.
