EDITORIAL: What is Doug Ford hiding from you? Way more than ever before

For those who are unfamiliar with the system that the Ford government are pushing for, It's called Fascism. Google it.

I think that the best way to restore faith in democracy is to bring back democracy instead of suppressing it all the time.

ClaneF: There's all the secrecy for a start. When decisions are made without any explanation or accountability, there can be no democracy.

This is news that difficult to believe. We need to turf most of council at the next election.

I disagree. The truth should come out, but that's unlikely to happen due to Ford restricting freedom of information. The idea that the truth will come out is wishful thinking.

Sabotage it then Privatize it. It's the same old story that Mike Harris and crew used to get up to. Wake up Ontario!

So who took the money then?

I can see lots of reason for various people to be motivated to see Dan Seguin as some sort of bad guy because his house is covered in unsightly junk, but it looks to me as though he has been unfairly picked on by the cops. This sort of unfair and underhand stuff by the cops has got to stop. That's why I'm trying to get on the police service board. Currently, the board doesn't seem to have anyone who's motivated to hold the cops accountable for dirty tricks.

I'm glad to learn that Mr. Langlois is taking action to hold the three politicians to account. That sort of stuff happens all too often because they're kinda nearly above the law. It's difficult to hold them to account, but it looks Like Glen Langlois will succeed. Best wishes to you Glen.

In terms of process or honesty, I just don't see how councillors King and Mayne can be in the wrong in this dispute. I also strongly doubt the integrity validity of Choric's argument against Lowery. Looks to me that council will continue to be largely dysfunctional until Chirico is no longer Mayor.

Looks like nothing of any importance to the city will get done until the cops arrest Chirico.

Ford wasn't arrested for threatening violence. How come the criminal code doesn't apply to politicians? Peter Chirico still hasn't been arrested and charged for theft.

It's obvious to me that people obstructing snowplows or threatening operators should be arrested and criminally charged.

The change I'd like to see: The cops criminally charging Peter Chirico and him standing trial. It's criminal matter and therefore it's out-with Council's purview.

Jail Chirico.

It's an unfair question that reminds of a question that Stephen Colbert kept on putting to the audience and various guests quite a few years ago. He asked: Do you think George W. Bush is the best president ever or one of the best presidents ever?Stephen Colbert is a comedian, but what's the excuse for the City of North Bay? Why didn't they ask if people want to leave the Downtown Waterfront as it is? No respect for democracy.

The idea that the sort underhand stuff Chirico did is supposedly common in private enterprise, does not make the situation any better. I'm sure that some private sector companies do that sort of thing often, but that's no reason to copy bad behaviour. The impression I get is that some staff at city hall are still covering up the details. Let's try to get rid of corruption and dishonesty at city hall instead of making excuses for it.

The decision to remove Chris Mayne and Mark King looks suspiciously secretive to me.

Without consequences for bad behaviour, the bad behaviour is likely to continue. A disgusting lack of actions by the authorities.

I personally find cricket really boring. A small bunch of people playing cricket could hang about for many hours and get in the way of loads people who want to play soccer, field hockey or various other sports.
