Crazy raise % for a job that there is intense competition for.
They are currently hiring right now and will have enough qualified applicants to replace the entire force. However, I'm sure they will have 3-400 people and hire 4.
It is a great job, and they do put their lives on the line, but the amount of people who are willing, able, and qualified to do this job does not equate to making this much money.
Police are having a tough time getting people to apply, their job is much more stressful with no 24 hour shifts. Why should firefighters get money equal to police?
