As things 'spin out of control,' Champlain monument tarped, fenced off

The mayor did not directly answer how much this cost. Nor how much it will cost now to maintain, especially should there be more vandalism. A tape and fence will not stop those who want to do what they want. Are they going to have security protecting it 24/7? Waste of time and tax payers money. There are more important concerns in this city right now. Whether you agree or disagree with the statue, this was not the process that should have been done.

Complete abuse of Power. Shameful. I hope Orillians remember what happened here and do not give McIsaac and those who supported this another term.I hope Mr Lee looks into legal options against the city.

Most if not all of the same members of council will likely be elected again, so this is basically avoiding the issue once again because they don't want to take a stance before the election.

If there was any doubt this mayor is running again in the election - here is your answer. This is basically the start of his campaign.

Its been vandalized already and now they are putting an eye sore tarp over it. Very bizarre move by an outgoing mayor who well knows that putting it back in place for "storage" was not what council was intending.

McIssac's excuse this was needed during an emergency and admission that Amanpreet is not even in the country further proves this is indeed a political move

Why did this article not mention that Bell, in what appeared to be a very distraught and perhaps threatening manner said she might get into a car crash after being told to leave?Bell has had opportunities to raise these things before with the proper process and she either chooses not to follow or plead ignorance. Much of her dialogue was incoherent. She cites research, but at every point this research was shown to either be incorrect or biased simply towards her opinion. She seems to be fighting for a select group of people. Likely her voting base. There are other taxpayers too. She seems to forget, she voted for the municipality sewer system changes to begin with. All this seems performative in a way to backtrack. She is campaigning clearly and hoping her supporters will vote for her again will see that although she voted for the thing they are not happy about, she is doing what she can to undo some things, while trying to cast doubt on everything with chaos.

Councillors already in campaign mode. Orillia is designed to slow you down everywhere. We don't need more of it.

Remember the council members who said the snow budget was fine for the election next year.

So don't raise the tax rate because the election is next year, but you want people to donate money...... hmmm

Did the Mayor ever donate his salary when he was elected? He said he would.

Bell confuses herself. She has been in election campaign mode for a while now.

Fed my dogs kibble and they have all lived long lives.Genetics and breed have more to do with the health of an animal. Mixed breeds also tend to live longer.

Is this what voters voted for in a council member who seems to be more focused on herself?

How will Bell respond to this one? According to her, it seems, everyone is out to get her?
