This is very straight forward explanation and many of us that worked in the departments that have laid off so may already were aware of the losses of filling coil orders to the states, anyone who thinks the Tariffs were not a direct impact are living in another world.
Why would they want to go on strike with the present threats we have against us now? When Algoma Steel negotiated our last contract the steel plant was doing good and no threats as we have now , totally different today.
Much of Michigan voted in the tyrant and now they see the results , tarrifs are still on at 50% for steel and aluminum. I think she is doing the right thing by boycotting state side agendas and the rest of council should be doing the same.
Everyone knew in the summer this was going to happen, everyone just didn’t think it will be so soon , the 50% tariffs are what made this happen and had to happen as it did. I’m not saying it’s a good thing that this is happening but I will say we went through this back in the 80’s but in different times.
