Council should be thinking of ways to get rid of the homeless.
Maybe use that 90 acres it now owns between the jail on Exter Road and the # 401.
The site's flood plain designation can be altered.
I have the perfect site to build some form of a homeless development.
The City owns 90 acres behind the Exeter Road jail and the #401.
Excellent location to move all homeless too.
Then work on spending money Downtown.
People don't be fooled when they say affordable ; these units are for working people who can't afford $1.5k + / mo.
When they say affordable they don't mean people on OW or ODSP but maybe people on full CPP + supplement (currently some $2k/mo.) who have no car or other expenses.
so say $50k for 8 months work is like $75k for year round work ;
and don't forget tax payer funded pensions and all those personal days off during the work year allowed.
the person that said $100k was a bit off but not when you recalculate a full years work including all those extra days off during the work year !
Just rode thru the Park and my guesstimate would be closer to 3k people.
Nice to see such a well behaved and organized crowd.
Good job London and whoever else assisted on putting this open air event on :)
there is a Range Manager at EEGC that is the same way as this site supervisor.
he always laughing when he throws someone out.
he needs professional help !
Give me a break ; out of 35k students graduation from impoverished families, Asian families, new European families , black families , and new students with hardly any English and the LFP gives this front page news ?
Oh and just diplomas what about the one's above that got degree in a useful /marketable subject thta's not connected to more Government workers ?
every four years I hear the same thing ; vote them in then vote them out , nothing changes !
reminds me of the Maple Leafs ; every ten years/decade they fire the coach then get a new coach , fire the management then get new management , trade the players and get new players yet all stays the same and still no Stanley Cup or even past the first level of playoffs .
BS it was engineered for 110 kmh. No road is engineered for any speed.
When they increased the speeding rate to over 70 mph the percentage of accidents skyrocketed so they reversed that decision.
