Fraser-Fort George Regional Hospital District has a new chairman. Congratulation Kyle, you said "you had a few clear priorities: to make sure everyone’s voices around the table are heard, to make sure the hospital district maintains a stable funding model and to advance legislative reform to remake the hospital district funding model." Easy words to say, harder to maintain, just common words of a politician. Does this mean the heli pad is going to be re-erected. Regional hospital district that is responsible for contributing funding towards its local health authority’s capital costs for projects within its borders, by raising the funding through taxes. Does this mean you would levee further tax on the people. As you have voted for over your years as a councilor. Finally you want everyone`s voices are to be heard or only heard if they coincide with yours.
Here we go again, Taxes upon Tax. As coun. Bennett released a property tax increase of aprox. 5.68%. Now Admin. want a additional rain tax to be leveed but not to all. When will it stop. When taxes are constantly raised in one way or another, it shows poor Admin. practices. Year after year taxes have increased to no avail. We have e Cori Ramsay,(Chair of Finance Committee), believing tax increases are part of the norm. City Manager Walter Babicz must be questioned as to his ability to run this City`s needs. Taxes under their watch have risen approx. $!K per household over a full four year period. Now Walter wants an additional aprox.5.68% and a undisclosed increase for rain. The people of PG are in an economic down turn. Loss of employment has put many residents to make a choice, pay for food or pay for heat. We all know this is just another tax grab. Admin. get a control of city expenditure or resign. City Councilors think very hard on your decision, it may cost you your seat.
Coun. Kyle Sampson finally remembered there`s an election coming and voting down the seniors at the Dec. meeting may turnaround and bite him. He has painted himself and five other councillors into a corner. But hoping a donation will correct his (narcissism, egotistical, powered self worth and lets not forget the theatrics), chances come Oct. Susan Scott is involved with senior groups and still voted against one time funding. But as mentioned before she (as Legion Chaplin at the time) voted down their time of need. The coalition of six have forgotten why they were elected. But in turn have resorted to self-worth and importance. Yet five of the six have no problem spending our tax dollars on wasteful travel. The citizens of PG, remember these six who turned their backs to those who fell for our freedom and those are serving today. Also turning their backs to those who raised them. These same elders that paid their taxes and built this committee.
The coalition of six are painted into a corner and looking for a way out. Wait till after Jan. meeting. Senior funding was needed for 2025 year ending. It would be surprising if the council turned down the motion coming forth and political suicide. One councilor wants to get rid of the contingency fund, others want to save it for something important. Now is their opportunity to appease all and for one time do the right thing.
