I am sure there is more to this and the other stories. Yes, his place is a little offside, and the road parking is annoying. I get that once there is a “valid complaint,” police have to check it out. But if someone is accusing him of running taxi rides, you would think there would need to be at least some actual evidence first, right?Apparently if the right person calls the city, we suddenly have resources for a full neighbourhood taxi investigation. And honestly, poor Dan having to deal with this and the other complaints. To be fair, he could probably do a much better job respecting the neighbourhood. Yes, it may all be legal and within his rights, but that does not make it any less annoying for everyone else.Nice to know police resources are focused on solving the great “possible Uber driver” case while there are clearly no bigger issues out there.

Right, because this is clearly working so well.We build clinics, give people a warm place to sleep and food to eat, then help them safely get their drugs… so they can go right back outside and do it again tomorrow. Brilliant system. Round and round we go.At some point, this will just become another taxpayer-funded service we’re told is “necessary,” and somehow it’ll still be mismanaged — like everything else our city touches. But don’t worry, we’ll just throw more money at it. That always fixes things. We’re told we can’t change the laws, so I guess we just accept this forever. Closing the places that hand out the drugs? Oh no, can’t do that — people might lose gov-funded jobs. Tragic. I’m sure we’ll find somewhere else to waste the money. If there are no drugs being handed out, most of these people will leave. And the people who are actually homeless and actually want help? They might finally get it.But hey — what do I know? Clearly this plan is a huge success.

What they need to do is remove the 4 way stop at ski-club. They put that up like 30 years ago for the school. Now that school is closed the traffic guard has little do. Its a mess morning and night. Folks can't turn off Airport as the traffic backs up all the way.And if you are green thumb person there is a lot of idling vehicles sitting there not movingKeep the traffic guard of course

I’m hoping that his resignation came with an agreement—possibly that he’d forgo severance if no public news emerged about the misuse of my money. It’s likely wishful thinking, but one can hope.

Why are we only picking on the mayor? You’d have to have your head in the sand to think abuse isn’t happening throughout the entire taxpayer-funded system. Most North Bay residents know someone who works for the city and brings home city property — and their managers know about it but say nothing, because they’re doing it too.Hiring an outside auditing company won’t fix anything — just more money wasted with little to no results. This isn’t just a North Bay problem — it exists everywhere. Sadly, there’s no real fix. Police are taxpayer-funded too, and they won’t investigate or lay charges. That said, theft is theft — and the mayor should step down. We need accountability at the top. What we really need are real businesspeople — people who have run successful companies — managing our city. Not someone with a nice smile and a bunch of letters after their name.

It still amazes me how shocked we are by rising crime. Shocked. Like it’s some mystery no one can solve. Once upon a time, if you stole a horse, you were hanged. Harsh? Yes. Effective? Also yes. Today, you steal a car and you’re home for supper—maybe with a court date. But let’s keep pretending consequences don’t matter. Make drinking and driving a one-year jail sentence for a first offence. Jails would be busy at first—then suddenly people would discover taxis. And guns? People who clearly shouldn’t have one get caught committing crimes and… not much happens. If the victim survives, lucky them—justice might show up.We bend over backward for criminals’ rights while victims are told to cope. Repeat offenders are “nurtured,” accountability is optional, and “mental illness” is the universal excuse.Disagree if you want. Nothing will change—until it’s you, and you find out the shooter was released six months ago for the same crime.
