Century-old building in Olde Towne Okotoks to be demolished
OkotoksToday 2I am writing to express my absolute shock on discovering the owner and towne’s desire to demolish the beautiful 1906 brick home at 50 McRae Street !Why do we bother listing these homes as having strong historical ties to the establishment of this Towne and its subsequent development, if all it takes is a request from the owner to destroy this irreplaceable heritage asset ?!There should be some public forum where tax paying citizens can have their say on this important civic issue !It’s Not just another olde house, but the embodiment of the founders of our Towne, who planted their hopes of the future here in Okotoks.
