Pointing to the City and suggesting that it's their job and responsibility to pick up discarded needles is something that really needs to be looked at. I would suggest we point the finger at the Heath Unit that hands them out by the thousands each month. - This remedy or solution needs to be revisited. - I am not a medical professional and really cannot see the reasoning behind handing out "clean" needles and drug kits on daily basis to rob our community of a safe place to live. - Sadly we should look at injection sites and keep the needles out of our feet at the beaches.
It has been quite a few years that I have had to take the school bus however my memory hasn't left me as of yet. I don't ever remember having bus cancellations like there is today. It just didn't happen. Secondly if the weather is this bad that buses can't safely bring children to school then I wonder why we leave it open for other sources of transportation to bring our children safely to school as they are kept open. I don't disagree that our weather conditions can be more than challenging at times and there are days it should be cancelled. I just feel it's just way too often. If I could provide a suggestion on "snow days" I would recommend that whatever snow days are used through the winter, they should be turned into summer days at the end of the year, so our youth are educated safely and then there isn't any missed classes because of old man winter.
