I survived an opioid addiction 20 years ago after a work place accident and a prescription for opioids. I wanted to go to school so I quit cold turkey and almost died. I had to work with a physician for a year to very gradually decrease the dose until it was safe to stop. It is a long process but if you make the decision, mentally, and commit to quitting it can be done.

A homeless guy was carrying a rifle in broad daylight down the sidewalk and they just let him walk away.

Stop encouraging homelessness. It’s supposed to be hard. You shouldn’t strive for homelessness. It should be so bad that you would do anything to get out of that situation. You should fix yourself; it’s your own responsibility, not ours. Get sober, get a job and find a place to stay. Contribute something to society.
