No destroying green space near the park and we certainly don't need anymore complexes.

City acting as landlord, in order to do that you must stay on top of repairs. Let's not forget 4 decades of blame on Vikkyville, and letting the James Whalen sink, waited 20 years to make repairs to the conservatory. Let's see how well they do as landlords.

I guess these students will be future Greta's. Getting arrested and unemployed.

What their doing is called squatting, and yes they can be removed. They do it in Edmonton my brother helped take down two encampments with the issues they had in 2022

Yet again if the city had done maintenance over the years rather than finger pointing going back 43 yrs as to whose fault things were, it wouldn't need to happen . It was actually the nicest looking if the malls and had a great food court. I guess boomers will be happy to finally have the stop sign and left turn gone. Since I've heard complaining about it for 3 decades.

So you think it was wiser putting all the trucks thru KB? You realize it was to appease one at large Alderman.

What would the cost of a partial reopening of LPH as a hostel type lodging be vs securing, transporting temp lodging to a proposed site.

The downtown south core has always been a ghetto, no reason why that should change .

If anything , reopen part of the old LPH as a hostel for the homeless. No sense bringing in shelters on taxpayer dime. They won't fix the James whalin, but found funds for this project.

Not the city's problem. A number of ppl in the tents were brought here during flood or forest fire season and never went home.

No project backed by council has ever been on target. Not sure why it needed to be as big as the airport.

This is very interesting to me, and would consider assisting. Sadly Thunder Bay has never been good preserving history.

Maybe move to town then. The teachers who live in town that work at rural schools don't want to risk their life on an icy day cuz you "couldn't wrap it up".

It's time for a party change next election. I plan to support Conservatives for the first time since 2011.

If the city maintained items it never would have come to this. All we have is waffling. 40 yrs of neglect at Vikkiville as they looked to blame rather than maintain, now we have a historical item, to be scrapped, how many times does this require a meeting. Also if a scrap dealer is purchasing an item to recycle why is there a price tag to the city. It's on them to purchase and remove, best option would be kept dry docked at the Alexander Henry, and maybe find volunteers to make some repairs like the caboose.

Well, we should write a book, on how to not run a city. Citizens keep electing perfect ppl well versed in this ability. Turning it over to the museum would have been the best option. Also why is council so dead set against reducing amount of councillors, and admin. It's time to make some changes.

The drug addicts couldn't afford the rent and don't have jobs, working class shouldn't have to support them. You have to want to help yourself first before others can help. As for your God comment it can be proven he doesn't exist. 6 yrs of Hitler rule and now Trump terrorizing his own citizens with ICE for a second time.

The city is paying to heat and light the old LPH, open one wing and the only added cost is two patrolling security guards. Save taxpayers.

Nice to see ol' Ken get that sign up quick, but took three years to consider tackling the homelessness issue when it was a campaign promise from three years ago.
